Harman fourth graders enjoyed a successful Market Day experience this past Wednesday! It was so exciting to see all of the student ideas and planning come to fruition. The creativity across the grade level was impressive and encouraging. It was wonderful to see students making connections to the economic terms and concepts we have been studying in class. From reading the class reflections, I can see that this experience was meaningful and memorable. Enjoy the slideshow below of students selling and purchasing! What's the most important thing you learned from Market Day?
I loved Market Day so much. Selling juice could just be my future! I thought the most important to learn from this is how to be an entrepreneur and its benefits. Being an entrepreneur is not easy! If you add something like a sign and make it pop, you’ll have more consumers. It’s very hard and tiring to work at a business. You have to be ready for everyone...not just one or two people. You have to spend your money wisely. Don’t get something just because it is low priced. If you want a good, don’t wait to buy it. I learned how to grab the customer’s attention with signs and displays. You have to make choices...and good ones. You need a fresh idea. You have to think about what people will like. You should spend your money on an item you will use. It’s really fun, but really tiring to be an entrepreneur! I’m not made to be an entrepreneur. I think the labor was worth it. It was hard when consumers didn’t want to buy my goods. I learned that having a job is kinda hard. It’s fun to make money, and hard to be an entrepreneur.
