Math/Language Arts
This will be my 19th year teaching elementary students and my 10th year teaching in Oakwood at Harman Elementary School. I love finding new and creative ways to engage and empower students in the curriculum so that all students may grow in their academic skills, independence, and confidence. Projects, technology integration, and hands-on experiences are the norm in my classroom, as well as a balance of collaboration and independent work. Learning will routinely take place outdoors so we can observe, ask questions, and experience the joy of our natural world throughout the seasons. Helping students in my class come together as a team each year to build community is the most important first step to ensuring a memorable and successful year for all learners.
Outside of the classroom I co-lead our 5th and 6th grade morning announcers and co-lead our district Place-Based/Outdoor Education PLC. Click below to learn more about Place Based Education happening in Oakwood!
